Creating Visual Stories...

Visual Stories

Social Media Stories took the modern world by surprise. And so does the number of networks use them as their popularity grows.

At Pencil India, we help you to create visual stories for your brand and integrate these on various social media platforms to attract, engage and delight existing and new customers.

What Are Stories and Why Do a Brand Use It?

Stories are the current phenomenon in social media which was first introduced by Snapchat. Stories let users put together short snippets of photos and videos, showing something from their daily lives.

Stories merge all aspects and provide the leeway for publishers to:

  1. Build a totally immersive readership experience through storytelling and versatile design
  2. Share and insert stories through websites and applications
  3. Mobility and mobile access
  4. Free for anyone who tries
  5. Tell complex, visual stories with the least technical knowledge
  6. Easier to grab user interest and keep them engaged through visuals

Snapchat Stories

All began with Snapchat. Snapchat introduced their new story feature in October 2013. Snapchat stories are a compilation of Snaps posted to their Story by a friend over the past 24 hours.

Moments are fleeting and that’s exactly the feeling and action to which Snapchat matched. “Everything it describes – from the real-life moments captured to their vanishing essence – is mirrored in the format of a story. The Snapchat trend has not stopped, and the average views of Snapchat’s video have risen year-on-year by 400 per cent.

For now, all Snapchat users are being shown promoted stories, although targeting options might become available. Although the story features of most channels are almost similar to Snapchats, there is one difference that Snapchat has – it’s using filters. Snapchat filters have proven extremely popular, and represent a valuable opportunity for businesses as well.

It wasn’t long before Instagram capitalised on what Snapchat began. Instagram launched its own section of the stories in August 2016. Instagram Stories has racked up 300 million daily active users within a year of its launch. This means that approximately 60 per cent of Instagrams 400 + million active daily users access Instagram Stories.

The high commitment is possibly due to the desire of Instagram users to follow the businesses. Actually, 80 per cent of Instagramers follow a platform business. With a combination of images and videos, Instagram stories appear horizontally at the very top of user feeds and vanish after 24 hours. If a user clicks on a clip, all the videos play one after the other automatically until the user closes the stores.

In 2017, advertisers have made it easier for Instagram Stories Advertising to take advantage of the app. These interplay with the normal stories of users, making them difficult to differentiate as advertisements.

Google calls the new story, a visual storytelling format for the open web … Web stories are plunging readers into tappable, clickable and full screen content. Now, when a user types a question into Google, they see a Visual Story at the top of their search results.
